September’s O2
September 20th, 2008 @ 11:53 pm

What an incredible night we had last night at O2!  I am continually amazed at the transformation that I see in my girls. They are constantly growing in their relationships with God and in their abilities to express their hearts for Him through dance. The night began with an arrangement of “Crown Him with Many Crowns”.  As the choir flowed in and out of a round of “awake my soul and sing” , the dancers spun  and flowed with silk jewel-toned scarves. It was pageantry and beauty for our God.  As I watched, I realized I was  holding my breath. So beautiful and appropriate!  After Dave read an excerpt from Psalm 57, ( awake my soul!) and declared a call to worship, the dancers threw their scarves up into the air and ran down the aisles  as “Salvation is Here” began.  Yes!!! As the night went on, I was able to go and watch each dancer individually. These girls are truly amazing! Some would never have dreamed that they would be out there dancing with so much vulnerability and strength, but they were! I whispered thanks to my Father as I watched each one offer her heart and gift to her God.  My heart swelled with pride and gratefulness. This is nourishment to a leader’s heart! Wonderful job, girls. Here are some images of the night. Almost didn’t get any as I just wanted to watch!img_5159.jpg img_5161.jpg img_5163.jpg img_5165.jpg img_5166.jpg img_5168.jpg img_5181.jpg img_5187copy.jpg  img_5198.jpg img_5211.jpg img_5237.jpg img_5256.jpg

O2 was amazing! I loved every minute of being out there worshiping my God in dance. It felt like I had more time to just join the congregation when it wasn’t time for me to dance and to experience O2. I LOVED that there was so much dancing during this one, too. When I was in the audience, I just went from dancer to dancer, being blessed by your worship to Him. It was an awesome night, and such a breath of fresh air for me!!! You girls are FABULOUS!!! sho’nuff.

I agree, Salena! The night was awesome. I was not only honored to be a part of the night, but blessed to watch so many worship my Jesus. I was also watching other dancers when I wasn’t dancing, and yes-everyone was absolutely beautiful! It was so cool to see each girl as they offered their gift. It was so unique for each one. Katie, you blessed my heart in such a huge way as I watched you dance to “Love Unyielding.” It was like God not only penned that song from your heart to music, but to dance, as well. Your movement was absolutely an expression of joy and thankfulness, and I caught myself smiling as I watched and sang. I don’t know about anyone else, but I felt a certain freedom last night, especially during “My Affection.” I don’t know if it was just because of all that has been going on in my life lately or what, but I felt so able to express my heart and have not one care about who was watching. I just wanted my King to see my heart for Him, and I pray He was blessed by what He saw!
I love all of you so dearly. You mean the world to me. Like Mary Anne said, great job, and thanks for bringing your hearts! Of course, we couldn’t do it without our amazing leader, so Mary Anne-thank you for all you do. We are so very blessed to have you :) Love you all!!

Thank you all sooo much! I love you guys and I’m so grateful to have this group of women to praise God with. O2 was such a blessing. I have to agree with Lauren about Katie. You rocked the planet and the joy just flowed! Everyone I saw was just glowing! Sigh. Good job ladies.

After my first night at dance, I am still pinching myself today. I can’t believe I get to be a part of such a wonderful group of women who love my Jesus. I woke up really excited and didn’t realize why until I was awake enough to remember last night. :-)

I told my husband that I was glad Mary Anne didn’t invite me to team until the morning of because I wouldn’t have been able to sleep the night before (you know how you just toss and turn thinking about the first day of school after the summer ends).

Thank you all for being so loving and welcoming. You are all so beautiful. I was fighting back tears as I watched you all dance together in groups of three.
